Vacation Rental Cleaning

Guests expect to enter an immaculate property, and if you’re new to vacation rental, their expectations may seem above and beyond the call. The most frequent types of complaints about vacation rentals have to do with cleanliness – particularly in the kitchen and the bathroom.

You need a cleaning service that’s able to provide not only a standard house cleaning, but a vacation rental cleaning – which involves quite a few more steps than your average cleaning job. To ensure your property never sees a cleanliness complaint, let Mr. Cleaning do it for you!

Bathrooms

  • Remove rugs/wastebaskets (if you haven’t already when vacuuming earlier)
  • Remove everything from tub/shower
  • Place bath mat in tub/shower
  • Wet tub/shower walls with warm water
  • Apply tile and grout cleaner, allow to sit
  • Spray/clean everything with all-purpose cleaner except toilet, vanity, shower/tub, mirror
  • Use BONA for wood floors, and other floors
  • Stand on bath mat and scrub tub/shower walls and door (use grout brush in-between tiles as needed)
  • Apply tile and grout cleaner to tub/shower floor and scrub
  • Clean shower rack/soap dishes
  • Clean shower track
  • Rinse off walls of tub/shower and dry with cloth
  • Clean vanity; spray tile and grout cleaner in sink, and clean soap dish
  • Spray countertop with all-purpose cleaner
  • Scrub sink
  • Use grout brush along faucet and drain
  • Rinse the sink and your rag
  • Wipe the vanity countertop
  • Wipe down cabinet fronts
  • Clean mirror; spray glass cleaner on soft cloth and buff
  • Shine the faucets
  • Wash the floor with solution the proper solution
  • Replace rugs, bath mat, and wastebaskets; make sure all containers are covered with liners

Bedrooms

If you’ve already removed clutter, dusted, and vacuumed the house and tidied your closets, your bedrooms will be basically done. To finish up, simply:

  • Return any furniture (chairs, diaper bins, etc.) that you put up to vacuum earlier
  • Make bed
  • Straighten
  • Special projects: Put chocolates, wine, bottle of waters, welcome card, coffee, and flowers out
  • Check under beds, make sure to vacuum carpets or floors

Kitchen

  • Wipe down countertops and cabinets (start at immediate right of the stove)
  • Clean face of appliances (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher)
  • Wipe down stove top
  • Pull clean dishes from dishwasher
  • Sweep and mop floor, with BONA only
  • Check coffee machine
  • Throw away any fridge food
  • Remove all trash/recycle

Windows

  • LOOK for fingerprints
  • Clean front windows all times

Patio

  • Clean up grill, check propane tank, cover the grill
  • Close umbrellas, tidy up chairs and patio furnitures
  • Pick up any trash
  • Clean up any patio/deck leaves

Living / Bedroom / Dining Room Areas

  • Tidy up the living room, fold blankets, stack books and magazines
  • Dust the entertainment center
  • Straighten pillows, blankets, couch cushions, etc.
  • Empty all the wastebaskets throughout the house
  • Go throughout the house with a basket collecting items that don’t belong and return them to the proper place
  • Look for cobwebs
  • Baseboards
  • Check under couches
  • Window sills
